They are beautifully dressed and thank you for sharing them! :) xxxGingerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05448401674397732366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7908416625559479349.post-7817270186442166492014-08-26T05:46:49.635-07:002014-08-26T05:46:49.635-07:00Hi Jocelyn, sounds familiar!!! My son also had a doll for a while, but not a Sasha, alas! That would have bee a mid 60s one (possibly a single fringe girl!). But these Sashas hooked you just how they hooked all of us! And we don't mind! xxx Karin Theodorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04357377733948947396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7908416625559479349.post-77288329417074468142014-08-26T05:37:08.492-07:002014-08-26T05:37:08.492-07:00I never liked dolls as a child - I didn't even...I never liked dolls as a child - I didn't even own a doll, being more interested in reading, drawing, and being out of doors looking at the wildlife. But I read an article about Sashas in the late 60s/early 70s, was intrigued, and bought one each for my three children. We don't remember what happened to those dolls! Then when my first grandson was born (2005) I started to think about what special toys I could get that would be the kind you only played with at Grandma's house...remembered Sashas, got online, end of story. (My middle grandson - they're all boys - occasionally gives the dolls the benefit of his attention, but the other two aren't interested. Never mind. I am!) - Jocelyntreefrogdemonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08668655760960757921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7908416625559479349.post-42408162272787577172014-08-25T10:23:17.571-07:002014-08-25T10:23:17.571-07:00Well that would be a turnout for the books if Yasm...Well that would be a turnout for the books if Yasmin ever started to do what I am doing now! She is very scathing about the whole Sasha thing! You have a great advantage being such a great seamstress! Maybe that skill got you into collecting dolls? I have had a go, but gave up! There are so many better people making things, so I just enjoy buying the lovely clothes on offer. Love all that Sasha business, have to admit! xxx Karin Theodorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04357377733948947396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7908416625559479349.post-81414461121391263732014-08-25T08:59:08.986-07:002014-08-25T08:59:08.986-07:00That's really lovely that you still have these...That's really lovely that you still have these two dolls Karin! And they look to be in great condition and well loved too. I was like your daughter and not that into dolls as a child, although I had several and still do have them, but I too preferred drawing and writing to playing with dolls. Now of course that has all changed, and I'm smitten! Dolls really are quite magical, aren't they!
Thanks so much for sharing these two with us!
Big hugs Sharon in Spain xxSharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14816580427584989752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7908416625559479349.post-56725164500123210202014-08-25T01:33:49.994-07:002014-08-25T01:33:49.994-07:00Dee, you are so right!!! And the Sasha friends we make along that way is a real bonus! I wonder whether Sasha Morgenthaler realized the full extent of the effect her creations would have on people. xxx Karin Theodorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04357377733948947396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7908416625559479349.post-4378457839807440992014-08-25T01:20:20.600-07:002014-08-25T01:20:20.600-07:00That's so nice that you still have the two Sas...That's so nice that you still have the two Sasha's that Yasmin played with in the 70's and that by showing them to your granddaughter it fired up your interest in them again.
Of course once that happened you were on the Sasha slippery slope which we all travel in our love and enjoyment of these dolls and the people we meet along the way.
