TIDYING UP YASMIN...

‘Yasmin’ was the first Sasha I bought. She was a Christmas Present for my daughter, Yasmin, then four years old. I have talked about that in an earlier blog already. Well, this ‘Yasmin’ (a 1971/72 Sasha according to the strings) has a kind of wild look about her! Interesting, as the real Yasmin has chosen the name ‘Wilde’ as her stage name! I absolutely love this Sasha and I thought I might just do her a favour and wash her hair and see whether I can’t tame this wild mane of hers. Well, see for yourself, whether there is any difference. I can’t see any, quite frankly. Actually prefer the slightly wilder look!

Here she is in her Ruthsdolls Dirndl before the big tidy upl

And here we have her, hair newly washed and tamed, wearing another Ruthsdolls outfit
Before the latest hair wash

A couple of closer views after the hour long effort to tame the wild child

Perhaps Yasmin doesn't want her 'wild mane' tamed.... but it must be much fresher and cleaner which is always a nice feeling.
How lovely to still have her in your fold. She looks really pretty in Ruthsdoll's two outfits showing how well the colour red suit her.

Her hair is like mine when I don't blow dry it! I call it my Suzi Quatro look. She's a very pretty girl, and it's great that you've kept her. I like her dresses too, very pretty.
As Kendal says, maybe she just doesn't want to be tamed!
Hugs Sharon in Spain xx

Ha ha, Sharon! Just like her namesake! I think I have always loved her more than even Yasmin did. She has a very serene expression - at odds with her wild hair! xxx Karin

Yes, I think she is a bit of a drama queen! The hair is a bit softer than it was, but I am sure it will revert to type sooner or later! xxx Karin

She does look a tiny bit tamer but for how long??? :) It's lovely that she still lives with you.
Dee xx
Ps I love both of her outfits, I do love the colour red!

A Dirndl for a Dirndl - as we say in Austria! I do love that so called 'Bavarian Costume' of Ruth's. I can only imagine that Yasmin must have washed her hair a lot way back when she played with Sasha! The poor girl also has teeth marks from our first Spaniel on her hand and leg! Not bad, but wondering whether something can be done about those? have you any ideas, Dee - oh fount of all knowledge??? xxx Karin

You could use Milliput which you can get from Hobby craft , to fill in and smooth over the bite marks, if you ask Gill, she explain she's filled in her Sasha's lip with it.

Thanks, Dee, but wouldn't there be a difference in colour? It's ok for the lips, as you can paint them afterwards. I have heard something about using heat for smoothing out these things. But can't remember where I saw this. Will investigate further. xxx Karin

She's lovely. The first and last photos are my favorites. In both her hair looks perfect. In the last photo it looks soft and silky, and in the first it gives a somewhat windblown look which adds to the picture.

Yes, Julie! She has quite a mane on her! I thought I'd have some fun and curl it and see how that suits her! xxx Karin

I think she looks just lovely in each photo! I like seeing Sasha's hair in different sylying and not always in a perfect style. She is really beautiful and I can see why you love her! :) xx

I am now almost sorry I tried to tame her hair!!! I think their personality does lie in the way their hair behaves to a large extent. I love her in the Dirndl dress Ruth has on her website. It suits her 'country' look! Thanks for all your nice comments. xxx Karin
